Coach Gabe

Coach Gabe, played the majority of his highschool basketball career at Western highschool and was one of the top scorers in the county leading his team to one of the best records in school history his senior year. This led to Coach Gabe attending Florida Gulf Coast University, in which he played for 4 years. Always a coach on the floor, the transition from playing to coaching came natural as Coach Gabe began his coaching journey training young aspiring athletes on basketball fundamentals and being a student of the game. His passion for teaching the game didn't stop there, as he quickly began his coaching career at Cypress Bay Highschool in Weston, Florida. Currently Coach Gabe, is the head basketball coach for the Cypress Bay Highschool girls team and head coach for the JV Boys team, in addition to coaching one of the most successful travel basketball programs in South Florida.

Sheldon Peterson

Sheldon Peterson, grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, with a mother who worked as a motivational speaker and life coach for the country's government. Following in her footsteps, he is now a life coach with Next Step Training. Sheldon received a basketball scholarship to Berry College in Rome, Georgia, where he played on the school’s team, while earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is the author of the book, “Conversations with God,” and has written several LinkedIn articles.

Dwayne Pean

Dwayne Pean, is a lifelong athlete and cofounder of Next Step Training. Growing up in a military family, Dwayne’s competitive nature was fueled from traveling the country, constantly adjusting to new schools and new teams. While in high school, Dwayne was a three sport athlete – playing basketball, baseball, and football – helping lead his team to winning titles in each sport. Dwayne’s athletic- nature earned him a full ride scholarship. While attending Barton College in North Carolina, Dwayne played point-guard on the school’s basketball team, helping lead the team to a record breaking season and an NCAA tourney bid. Dwayne is currently working in the medical sales industry, and continues to play basketball and football in local leagues. With Next Step Training Dwayne hopes to inspire the next generation of athletes.
